Digital SLR for beginners

Don’t know where to start with your DSLR camera?

If you are a newcomer, teenager, or anyone coming back to photography, this 2 hour DSLR workshop is ideal for you.

In this workshop you will gain confidence whilst growing your practical and theoretical skills in a small group setting. With the group size being no larger than 8, this workshop will allow you plenty of ‘hands on’ time with the instructor.

The workshop will start in the classroom, where you will learn photographic concepts and theories, before putting your skills into practice. The workshop will then conclude in the classroom, with an overall summary, and Q&A time.

The main topics that will be covered are:

•    ISO,

•    Aperture,

•    Shutter Speed,

•    Focus control,

•    Exposure,

•    Camera layout,

•    Raw vs Jpeg,

•    Composition.

Come prepared to ask questions. Any question is a good question!

The experience does not stop after the class. You can head on the Foto Community page to share your experiences and photos, but to also gain useful hints and tips: Foto Community

Smartphone Photography

Master photographer Chase Jarvis once said: “The best camera is the one you have with you.”

Everyone these days has a smartphone. As technology develops, we are now switching our chunky Digital SLR cameras for the ease and convenience of the slimmer smartphone. However, this doesn’t mean your photos should suffer as a result.

The workshop will start in the classroom, where you will learn photographic concepts and theories, before putting your skills into practice outside. The workshop will then conclude in the classroom, with an overall summary, and Q&A time.

The main topics that will be covered are:

·      Composition

·      Phone basics

·      Lighting

·      Talking pictures of people

·      Free apps to edit your photos

This class is great for anyone who wants to learn more about photography, instagram aficionados, small businesses, or bloggers.

You will leave this class with a new skillset that will enable your creativity to soar and take better photos with your smartphone. I expect all my students to leave this workshop with a head full of ideas, as you are deciding which photo to take next.

The experience does not stop after the class. You can head on to foto community page to share your experiences and photos but to also gain useful hints and tips: Foto Community
